Manager of Excellence

Congratulations to Bette A. Weseman, PCAM, MCM, LCAM, of Resource Property Management in Florida. Bette, who works out of the company's Clearwater office, has received the Managers of Excellence award, which was established to recognize community association managers who are industry leaders. Bette has nearly 40 years of industry experience and, as a community association manager for Resource Property Management, oversees eight properties that range from a 67-unit town house community on Tampa Bay to a 111-unit 55-plus community to a 657-unit homeowners association built around 27 lakes. During her career, Bette has aggressively pursued professional development opportunities and in 1983 was one of the first women to earn her PCAM designation.

Bette is a thorough, energetic, hands-on community association manager who Reserve Advisors is proud to recognize as a Manager of Excellence.

According to Bette, it's important to:

Know Your Properties – Bette is an active and engaged manager who visits and inspects her properties regularly. She believes it's important to get out from behind the desk and be at the properties. If there's a problem, Bette is onsite to inspect the issue herself and determine what needs to be done.

Listen to the Residents – Bette believes listening is a key skill for an effective property manager. When a board member or resident calls, take the time to hear what they're saying and respond to their needs. When you listen to someone's concerns, you gain valuable knowledge and insight.

Do Your Research – If you're working with a new property, Bette advises finding out as much as you can about the property – read the minutes, make phone calls and talk to the residents.
